Meet our Operations Manager, Deb!

Deb is at the center of the Buckley's team and started working for Buckley in 2006 after raising her 5 daughters. She hails from the Pittsburgh area and began her career in the federal government after graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Deb is adored by staff and clients alike for her patient dedication above and beyond the call of duty.  

Meet our Care Manager, Susan!

Sue has a B.S.W. from N.C. State. She has had an extensive career in the fields of Care Management and Social Work over the last 30 years. Susan joined the Buckley's team in 2008 and brings her social work expertise along with a lot of joy and energy to all her beloved clients.

Meet our Companions!

Simbo

Simbo sees life as a tremendous gift and a blessing. Helping to make a positive difference, touching lives, uplifting her fellow human beings gives her purpose and fills her days with joy and satisfaction. She has a Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Ife, in Nigeria, a Masters in Business Administration from Bowie State University and has lived and attended school in several countries in Africa, Europe as well as the USA. This, along with her diverse family background, among other things, has helped to shape her into a very multicultural and adaptable person who genuinely loves people.

Gigi 

Gigi was born in Bulgaria and has been with Buckley's since 2007. She is a wife and mother of two grown daughters and five grandchildren. She has a degree in physical education and was a former Bulgarian professional tennis player. Her professional background includes business development, public relations and teaching.

 Vanessa

Cele

Cele is a graduate of University of North Carolina Greensboro and brings a wealth of knowledge and experperince to Buckley's having served as the executive director of a local "village" non-profit.  She was honored in 2026 with the Annie B. Rose Lifetime Achievement Award for her service ot older adults.  Cele is the proud mom of two grown children and when not hanging out with family enjoys tennis, reading, cooking and travel. 

 Rema

Rema was born in Detroit to first immigrant parents from Palestine, Jordan but has lived in Fairfax most of her life.  She has a daughter who graduated from William and Mary and resides in North Carolina.  Rema graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and speaks conversational Arabic.  She is a dog lover who also enjoys gardening, arts & crafts and Middle Eastern cooking.  Rema comes to Buckley's with many years of experience working with older adults which is her passion. 

 Sina

Sina is originally from Tehran, Iran, and immigrated to the Detroit area when he was almost 10.  He attended Michigan State University for undergrad and is finishing up his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law. In his spare time, Sina loves to volunteer and play soccer.

Sandy

Sandy moved to Virginia from upstate NY in 1985 and has lived primarily in Alexandria since. She graduated from UVA with a degree in social services.  Sandy has worked, both as an employee and volunteer, with various non-profits providing services for the older adult community.  She has one daugher, Emmy, who lives in Richmond and one grand-dog, Cookie, also in Richmond. Sandy currently splits her time between Alexandria and Boyce/Millwood, VA

Tracy

Tracy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She moved to Leesburg in 1993 to work for United Airlines where she met her husband who is also from Pittsburgh. They have 2 teenage girls and are all avid Steeler fans.  She enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with her family.

 Julie

Julie is originally from Texas and is a graduate of Liberty University.  She is a military spouse and mother of three adult children. Her professional and volunteer experiences have provided her with countless opportunities to serve others in schools, adult living facilities, homes, and various non-profit organizations. Her passion is people!  She cherishes time spent with family, baking, playing games, and traveling.                                                           

 Arash

Arash holds a B.S. in Global Management from Arizona State University and is the founder of Float Mode, a business focused on on-demand workplace wellness. His passion for working with older adults began with his grandmother's visit from overseas, inspiring him to relocate to Virginia to spend quality time with her. That experience deepened his appreciation of the importance of human connection, especially later in life.  Outside of work, Arash volunteers with Social Call, a national program that pairs older adults with volunteers for regular phone conversation.  He also enjoys boxing, running, and motorsports. He is fluent in English and Farsi and values opportunities to support others in leading independent, fulfilling lives.

Dawn

Dawn Curtis is a life-long resident of Northern Virginia with a passion for working with seniors.  She is avid yoga practitioner and instructor, teaching classes and private yoga sessions around the area. 

Michelle

Michelle, a registered nurse for 20 years in the U.K. and Australia, comes with a wealth of experience in elder care as most of her patients during her nursing career were elderly.  It was here that she first recognized the growing need for not just physical support but emotional support for our older adults.  Michelle is also quite the "dog whisperer", gifted in caring for for canines with special needs.
